“I hired Elite Garage Door to automate our double gate. Arkadi was really professional and accommodating. His quote was the best of the three that I asked for. The team that he brought was top-notch. He kept me up to date constantly during the 2-day installation. I highly recommend him and his team and would hire him again in a heartbeat.”
Driveway & Automatic Gate Repair in Cameron Park, CA
Swing and slide gates that won't open, won't close, open by themselves, or stop halfway. We fix the opener and the gate itself, across El Dorado County and the greater Sacramento area. No service-call fee. Emergency service 24/7.
Gate Stuck Open, Won't Close, or Opening by Itself?
A broken driveway gate either leaves your property wide open or locks you in or out. On a lot of foothill and rural properties the gate is the only way on or off, so we treat a dead gate as an emergency. Call us if your gate:
- Opens but won't close, or starts closing and then reverses
- Stops halfway or won't open all the way
- Opens by itself, sometimes in the middle of the night
- Beeps, hums, or clicks but doesn't move
- Stopped working after a power outage or storm
- Won't respond to the keypad, remote, or intercom
- Sags, drags on the ground, or grinds along its track
Elite Garage Door & Gate Repair is based in Cameron Park and repairs driveway and automatic gates throughout El Dorado County, Folsom, Granite Bay, Loomis, Roseville and Sacramento. We specialize in driveway and automatic gates, not backyard fence or pool gates.

Common Gate Problems and What Causes Them
A gate is a system: the opener, the safety devices, the power supply, and the gate hardware all have to work together. We check all of it, so the fix lasts.
Gate Opens but Won't Close
Usually a blocked, dirty, or misaligned photo-eye sensor, a vehicle loop detector stuck "on," or a free-exit sensor that keeps triggering. Low battery voltage and limit settings can cause it too.
Gate Stops Halfway or Reverses
The opener reverses when it senses resistance. Worn hinges, flat or seized wheels, debris in a slide track, or a gate that has shifted all make the gate harder to move. A weak battery or a force setting that's too sensitive does the same.
Gate Opens by Itself
A remote with a stuck button, a faulty exit wand or loop detector, an auto-open timer, or a failing control board. We test each input to find out which one is sending the open command.
Gate Beeps or Hums but Won't Move
Many openers beep to signal a fault: an obstruction, a sensor error, or a low battery. Humming without movement points to a failed motor, gearbox, or capacitor, or a manual release that's still engaged.
Gate Died After a Power Outage
Backup batteries wear out after a few years and can't carry the gate through an outage, including PG&E safety shutoffs. Storm surges can also damage control boards. We test the battery, charger, and board.
Keypad, Remote, or Intercom Not Working
Dead remote batteries, lost programming, a damaged keypad, a cut wire, or a receiver problem. We reprogram, rewire, or replace access devices and can add phone-based access.
Swing Gate Sagging or Dragging
Worn or loose hinges, a racked gate frame, or a post that has moved in the soil. A dragging gate overworks the opener, so we fix the gate first.
Slide Gate Off Track or Grinding
Worn V-groove wheels, a bent or dirty track, a stretched chain, or worn guide rollers. We replace worn parts and realign the gate so it rolls smoothly.
Swing Gate and Slide Gate Repair
Swing Gate Repair
Single and double swing gates with arm-style or underground openers. We repair and replace opener arms and motors, adjust or replace hinges, fix sagging gate leaves, set open and close limits, and service gate stops and locks.
Slide Gate Repair
Rolling slide gates with chain-drive openers. We replace wheels, guide rollers, and chains, clean and realign tracks, adjust chain tension, and fix gates that bind, jump the track, or stop at the same spot every time.
Openers, Boards & Motors
Control board diagnostics and replacement, motors and gearboxes, limit switches, capacitors, and wiring. When an opener is beyond repair or parts are discontinued, we'll tell you honestly and quote a replacement.
Gate Opener Brands We Repair
We repair swing and slide gate openers from LiftMaster (including the RSW12V and CSW24V), DoorKing, Viking, FAAC, Linear, Elite, Apollo and other major brands, including older and solar-powered models. We carry common parts and control boards on our trucks, so many repairs are finished on the first visit.
Not sure what brand you have? Take a photo of the opener's label or control box from a safe distance and send it with your request. That helps us bring the right parts.

Safety Sensors, Battery Backup & Access Control
Photo Eyes & Safety Edges
Automatic gate openers must have entrapment protection so the gate can't close on a person or car. We test, realign, and replace photo-eye sensors and safety edges, and bring older gates up to current safety requirements when we replace an opener.
Vehicle Loop Detectors
Loops buried in the driveway open the gate for exiting cars and keep it from closing on a vehicle. A cut or failing loop can hold the gate open or let it close too soon. We test loops and detectors and replace what's failed.
Battery Backup & Solar
Backup batteries keep your gate working through outages, and solar openers depend on them every night. We test and replace batteries, check chargers and solar panels, and size the system so the gate works through winter's shorter days.
Keypads, Remotes & Phone Access
We repair and replace keypads, remotes, receivers, and intercoms, and can add app or cellular access so you can open the gate from your phone.
Gate Repair for Foothill and Valley Properties
Gates around here take a beating. Summer heat over 100°F shortens battery life and is hard on control boards. Long, sloped foothill driveways mean heavier gate leaves and harder-working openers. Clay soil swells and shrinks with the seasons and can shift gate posts until the gate no longer lines up. Oak leaves and acorns end up in slide tracks every fall, and rural properties lose power more often, including during PG&E safety shutoffs.
That's why we don't just swap the part that failed. We check the battery, the sensors, and the gate hardware on every gate repair, so you're not calling us back a month later.

What Our Gate Customers Say
Rated 4.9★ on Google and Yelp. A few of our customers in their own words:
“Same-Day response and in-person inspection and quote. Arkadi gave me a bunch of options that fit within my price range and did not pressure me to buy anything that exceeded my budget… Also so glad they could attach the mechanism to my existing gate. He and his crew showed up on time and finished within a day. Everything done up to code and with attention to detail.”
“Literally gave Elite a call and got an answer immediately. We went over the potential issue, we used FaceTime to assess the issue. Literally at my house within the hour and fixed in a few minutes… VERY affordable compared to another “emergency” quote I got.”
Residential, HOA and Commercial Gate Repair
Most of our gate work is for homeowners with a private driveway gate. We also repair automatic entry gates for HOAs, ranches, and commercial properties, where gates cycle many more times a day and wear out faster. Ask about scheduled maintenance for busy gates.

Gate Repair FAQ
Why does my gate open but won't close?
The most common cause is a safety sensor (photo eye) that is blocked, dirty, or out of alignment, so the opener thinks something is in the way. A vehicle loop detector that is stuck 'on', a low battery, or a close-limit setting can also do it. We test each one to find the cause.
Why does my automatic gate open by itself?
A gate that opens on its own is usually caused by a stuck remote button, a faulty vehicle loop or exit sensor, a timer setting, or a failing control board. We test each input to find which one is triggering the opener.
Why did my gate stop working after a power outage?
The backup battery may be drained or worn out, or a surge may have damaged the control board. Most openers have a manual release so you can open the gate by hand. Check your opener's manual for its release, then call us to test the battery and board.
How do I open my automatic gate manually?
Most swing and slide gate openers have a release, usually a key, lever, or knob on the operator, that disengages the motor so you can move the gate by hand. The location varies by brand. If you can't find it or the gate is heavy, call us rather than forcing it.
What gate opener brands do you repair?
We repair LiftMaster, DoorKing, Viking, FAAC, Linear, Elite, Apollo, and other major brands of swing and slide gate openers, including older models. We carry common parts and control boards for same-day repairs when possible.
Do you repair gates you didn't install?
Yes. Most of the gates we repair were installed by someone else. We work on existing swing and slide gates, openers, keypads, and access controls.
Do you repair backyard, fence, or pool gates?
No. We specialize in driveway and automatic gates: swing and slide gates with openers, keypads, remotes, and sensors.
Can you fix a sagging or dragging swing gate?
Yes. Sagging is usually caused by worn or loose hinges, a gate frame that has shifted, or a post that has moved. We adjust or replace the hinges and correct the gate so it swings freely and the opener isn't straining.
How often should an automatic gate be serviced?
We recommend a yearly checkup for residential gates and twice a year for busy HOA or commercial gates. We test the safety sensors, battery, and opener, and check hinges, wheels, and tracks before small problems become breakdowns.
